@beinlibertarian How about...suspending federal money going to states? Period?
Federal money should go to federal operations, those things directly authorized by the Constitution. The states should fund themselves.
@ElinaMia34 I love owls. Both of my colleges had owls as mascots. When I go to the zoo, the owls are my first stop. My favorite part of camping is lying awake at night listening to the owls calling each other.
Your owl is officially my favorite.
In the USA, of course, today is framed as a day of Thanksgiving. It's true that most of us can find something to celebrate despite our circumstances. If you can't, please know you're not alone, for there are others like you. Find them; befriend them. Be their reason for thanks.
@mcnultyusmc@godlywomanhood I was also unclear, particularly with that phrase (which was mine, not yours). Of course you (1) accept that sin that has happened, (2) forgive, (3) pray. I believe you can (4) call for better without going so far as demanding perfection and (5) celebrate progress. What say you?
@mcnultyusmc@godlywomanhood Did you read my post? Where did I say anything about punishing her in any way? You say to call for apology and change; I say to call for improvement. Are we agreeing with different words, or is there more to your message or context?
@mcnultyusmc@godlywomanhood I fully agree with your first sentence. Contrasting it with "demanding perfection" is a false binary, though. Those who love each other, in whatever context, should encourage and celebrate growth and improvement, not weakly accept sin. Help with the struggle; never surrender.
@jelece4525@EricLDaugh Only if they choose to be (and some do). Those who write the blank check to the military, and serve with honor, should be first in line to any social safety net offered that they need later.
@LPNational@lewrockwell Only two reasons could cause this content to be considered "adult": (1) someone marked it so fewer people would see it, or (2) freedom requires people to grow up. If you're doing all you can and still not managing, what would happen if you could keep much more of what you earned?
@beinlibertarian Rabid adherence to the Constitution, refusing to pass anything the Constitution doesn't *clearly* authorize, and filing at least one bill daily to repeal an unconstitutional law
@tezzles@TenthAmendment The solution is simple, but very hard: amend the Constitution to (1) require a balanced or surplus budget in peacetime, (2) permit deficits in time of *congressionally declared* war, (3) require repayment of such deficits over thrice the period of the war. Bonus: get back on gold
