@BlueDevilXC Thank you for all that you have done for the athletes that you have coached. Thank you for taking me aside @ a staff social to help me become a better coach. I am forever in your debt for that. Thank you for accepting & embracing me for who I am. You'll always be Coach Tru to me.
“I want guys to run Track in the Spring. It’s hard to manufacture that level of competition. It’s You vs. the Clock. When you get out on the track and compete you’re going to get better.”
- Chip Kelly
6th-12th school day should go from 9-2. With mandatory extracurricular activities or academic intervention from 2-4. If you aren’t in a sport or activity get all your school work done . Im guessing extracurricular enrollment skyrockets and overall school culture follows suit.
Not just athletes, but in our realm of life especially athletes : people need to hear they are loved for who they are not what they do, not the results they have, and not what they can do for you.
Relationships that are transactional are not relationships that build roots. Those types of relationships are depleting and exhausting because you are chasing something you will never get from that person: the acknowledgment that what you have to offer this earth is enough despite the results you produce.
Coaches, bosses, mentors that build relationships establish a trust between them and their athlete, employee, or friend and trust can have a huge impact on culture and performance.
Dear Governor Reynolds--
We started back to school today. Kids come next week. This spring you said a couple things that bear repeating.
Let us drive, Governor. And be honest about thriving. We'll strive to do so despite the obstacles you've put in the way. Cuz we're called.
