What I find interesting is that some fans don’t mind giving you time if you start out terribly because they think you’re building something for the long term, but if you start out winning they think this is the final form of what you’re building so there’s nothing more to see
@SimplyUtd All the things he is criticised for would be background noise if we performed. Underperform on the pitch and the background noise gets amplified.
@SimplyUtd All fair points but ignores the fact he couldn’t handle the pressure and blew up. The fact is he struggled to manage the premier league. You can’t simply manage a long term project by completely ignoring the short term.
@pkwestel Thank you for this. I’ve seen a lot of analysis focus on uniteds press and how it was exploited for the pen. This tallies more with what I was seeing. Mid block but I thought they looked solid defensively for the most part.
@Silvakn0ws This is great. However a lot of analysis I’ve seen focuses on how Fulham exploited United. United won the game and created the same if not more big changes. Surely this implies United got the better of Fulham’s approach more than Fulham for the better of Uniteds.
@FPLfrasier@FPL_Odyssey On point 5 - the logic was to let him make his mistakes last season. But with how dreadful it became, it’s hard to see it as anything other than scarring.
@cheddachallenge @FplCharlie2 DM tackle and recovery is the way forward. Need to bring the DMs into it. There is a whole cohort that are effectively useless in the game.
