I am a Microsoft security architect.
In 1994, researchers discovered RC4 was fundamentally broken.
We made it the default cipher in Windows anyway.
By 2000, every machine on Earth was running it.
We called it "battle-tested."
Technically true. It lost every battle.
In 2013, more researchers confirmed it was still broken.
We published a knowledge base article thanking them for their passion.
In 2015, the entire industry formally deprecated it.
We kept it enabled by default.
Compatibility is more important than security.
Security is just compatibility with not being hacked.
Hospitals ran their patient records through it.
Banks authenticated their transactions with it.
Fortune 500 companies trusted their crown jewels to it.
The Ascension breach happened. 5.6 million patient records. 140 hospitals offline.
Ransomware walked through our cipher like it wasn't there.
It basically wasn't.
Senator Wyden called it "gross cybersecurity negligence."
He demanded an FTC investigation.
We released a statement thanking him for his continued partnership.
After 26 years of careful consideration, we've made a decision.
We're going to disable RC4 by default.
In mid-2026.
We're giving everyone 18 months notice.
Because we believe in thoughtful transitions.
We've been thoughtfully transitioning since the Clinton administration.
Two Clintons could have run for president in the time we've been "evaluating options."
Some things are just hard to kill off.
Like a legacy cipher.
Or institutional momentum.
Or the phrase "we take security seriously."
We do take it seriously.
We just don't take it urgently.
Urgency is for startups.
We're a mature organization.
We mature our vulnerabilities like fine wine.
26 years.
That's not negligence.
That's commitment.
We did it! 🦾 Say hello to our brand new @Prusa3D × @BondtechAB INDX CORE One - fast, efficient, and built with an 8-material toolchanger system that revolutionizes what a single 3D printer can do.
Proud to join forces with Bondtech CEO Martin Bondeus on this one! 🔥
I've never seen the Python community embrace any tool faster than they did with uv.
uv is likely the best Python tool of the last few years.
If you aren't using it yet, stop what you are doing and look into it. If you are already a user, check out the attached cheatsheet.
I'm convinced that gitflow is a psyop and no one ever done that in practice because it takes like 30 seconds of thinking before you realize this is completely unfeasible and a huge waste of everyone's time
@Shapr3D Your latest release notes are not available for the public it seems. Asks for a login, then "You're not authorized to access this page". See https://t.co/nbXiEnaaKv
What started as a joke to reuse leftover parts from an MK4S to Prusa CORE One upgrade for a Switchwire-style build quickly turned into a serious project led by Ella Fox and the Positron3D team! ✨ In just over two months, it had become a fully functional printer that pays tribute to both the Prusa and Voron designs. We recently launched Articles on Printables and are happy to see cool posts like this one from Nomads Galaxy! 🧡

"The +5 point increase for FastAPI is one of the most significant shifts in the web framework space."
"This signals a strong trend towards using Python for building performant APIs and reflects the overall strength of the Python ecosystem."

I‘m normally not doing this, but this video I definitely have to recommend. It gives a great overview on how you can manage your whole home using 3D printing. And I’m not posting this cause of openGrid being mentioned. Still thanks for that Katie! https://t.co/amSpy4iF20
nur version 0.17.0 now uses nu shell 0.105.1 and also loads .env files from your project root (thanks to pyz4). Get it while its hot!

You can run `uv add --script /path/to/script.py` to add inline dependencies to a Python file. If the script header doesn't exist already, uv will generate it for you.
Ok, this is super cool and a sleeper on @printablescom at the moment. Love the golden spiral constraint technique, the part symmetry, glueless, and modularity of this design. Absolutely BRILLIANT by Anton Gaia! 🥰🌀

Prusa EasyPrint is now available to everyone! 🧡
Print models directly from your phone, tablet, or laptop – no installation required. Designed for simplicity, EasyPrint makes 3D printing accessible to everyone. 🌟

Hey, check out the openGrid generator created by BlackjackDuck! You now can create your own, personal variation of the openGrid board, making this system even more versatile. 🥳
All possible thanks to the open files and documentation.

@TheZuza@UncleJessy4Real@printablescom Still I also did run into this "issue". Meaning the UX may be improved here ;-)
(And as a note: Defaulting to having supports should at least be configurable. I need to disable this each time)
Besides this EasyPrint really is great btw!
