@NateWorthington I had a really beautiful convo with my pastor about this between our services on Sunday. Remembering this is so important. Jesus suffered too.
@NateWorthington I think for me it’s letting myself actually feel my emotions. I bottle them up most of the time. I’m slowly learning how to give them space but it’s taken work.
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” // John 1:14 (ESV)
Sometimes Christmas looks like this:
A broken-hearted, tear stained face.
Grief.
Loss.
Sadness.
Longing.
All while holding on to the truth:
He came for this, too.
And, He came for you.

Christmas as a single is lonely.
Christmas as a single in the Church is a whole other kind of loneliness.
I was hit with grief today for everything I wish could be during this season while also holding the reality of what is. 💔 #Advent
I realized recently that this will be my 4th Christmas since I was on staff as a worship leader. In my sleep last night, how it all ended replayed. Trauma is real and more long-lasting than we realize. 😔
