@TheRedGoner@nickyaboi24@izen9179 in real life games are mostly competitive, so there would be challenges, but for a singerplayer video game there can be no challenges, or even no goals, technically speaking its totally possible.
@TheRedGoner@nickyaboi24@izen9179 rules are "how you interact", goals are "why you interact", and challenges are "what obstacles you might face when interacting", so in the end "interaction" is the core trait, and the three you mentioned are just what "interaction" brings.
@TheRedGoner@nickyaboi24@izen9179 in fact im gonna go one step further and say that real life games and video games are fundamentally different so video games can have different structures
@TheRedGoner@nickyaboi24@izen9179 i mean since its called "visual NOVEL" you should at least compare it with novels or something like that. You shouldnt have use such a broad concept of "game". thats not how it works imo
@TheRedGoner@nickyaboi24@izen9179 also for the meta section the rules are still there (editing + deleting files + save feature), there is a goal (getting the ending), and there are challenges like getting the good ending by having multiple save states and get all the routes before the meta section.
@TheRedGoner@nickyaboi24@izen9179 Um…Ive never played ddlc but I THINK theres a section of ddlc where you need to write poems using given words? Isnt that rule (given words) + goal (write poems that a certain character enjoys) + challenges (get into a certain character's route by writing poems) combined?
Weird ass discourse on here rn
"Why would I want to play side content?"
"Why would I want to replay a game I completed?"
"Why would I spend so much time playing a game?"
Do you guys even...like games...? Who is chasing you and holding you hostage??
@universetime_@AmigoP247@personacel very beginning, personally i would still be bothered by being told something like this. I dont want to sound to petty but this is my genuine thought. I hope you wont get too annoyed.
@universetime_@AmigoP247@personacel This might be kinda hard to follow or difficult to understand but the point im trying to make here is something like this could lead to hints and risks. its kinda like saying "the next chapter is heavily related to the last one"(or the opposite). So even if its revealed at the
