I guess it's time for me to take you to back to school.
Nearly half of the FDI is M&A activity.
No new jobs were created.
Just an exchange of ownership slip.
Just like Shell's $22 Billion acquisition of ARC.
I'll explain it in terms so you can understand it a bit better: it's like selling your smelly used car and calling it a foreign investment into your household.
I take great pleasure when I read dumb posts like this.
It exposes how little you truly understand about the economy and markets, despite your whole Liberal, anonymous, tough-guy account being dedicated to being an expert.
Take a seat child.
You've been rinsed. 🤫
BREAKING: Carney just announced Canada's first "sovereign wealth fund."
Called the "Canada Strong Fund."
But here’s the reality of it:
Every real sovereign wealth fund is built from surplus.
Norway: oil profits.
Abu Dhabi: oil profits.
Singapore: trade surpluses.
Canada's version?
Built from borrowed money.
We're running a $78 billion deficit.
$1.2 trillion in debt.
More than half of it accumulated in the last decade, under the Liberals & Carney’s advice
A wealth fund requires wealth.
We don't have wealth.
We have the most debt Canadians have ever carried in history.
THIS IS A SOVEREIGN DEBT FUND.
PS. There’s a reason Norway didn't need to name their fund.
Carney is excellent at rebranding debt.
Ignore the illusions.
He promised a win with the U.S.
He gave us higher tariffs in Canada.
And he has been hiding from trade talks for 5 months, while our economy is the worst in the G7.
The Prime Minister’s video is another illusion.
He says he wants a permanent rupture with our biggest customer while he keeps 90% of his personal investments in the U.S.
He has doubled the deficit, negotiated no new free trade deals with any other country, approved no pipelines, and given Canada the worst food inflation, the worst household debt, the worst housing costs, and the only shrinking economy in the G7.
Fear is not a plan. We must reverse Liberal taxes, deficits, and anti-resource laws so we can be affordable, safe, and strong at home.
Canada added ~1 million jobs in a decade
GOVERNMENT JOBS
Government jobs grew 60% faster than private sector jobs
27,000 federal employees now make $150,000+ per year
Public sector productivity declined 0.3% per year during the same period
Costing Canada an estimated $32 BILLION in lost GDP
The economist behind the study said it plainly:
“You cannot have an economy with decent standards of living where the majority of what’s going on is government growth.”
Canadians just re-elected the party that built this.
And they manufactured a majority to keep going.
I see where this is headed.
🚨 BREAKING
Carney just got his majority.
Not through an election.
Through floor crossings.
5 MPs poached.
Secret target list of 10.
“Explore the dark side” text messages.
Canadians voted for a minority.
He MANUFACTURED a majority anyway.
THIS IS NOT A TRUE DEMOCRACY.
🚨 BREAKING: Liberal MPs are actively recruiting opposition Members of Parliament.
It is no longer intermediaries.
When Mark Carney was asked by Rosemary Barton, if he was actively recruiting MPs, Mark Carney dodged the question.
He said "people are interested in what we're doing".
These actions, and treating voters wishes, like trading cards that can be traded, bought or sold without voter consent, undermines our democracy.
It's shameful and a stain on our country's history.
Forming a majority government through floor crossings is unprecedented and has never been done in history.
This will be Mark Carney's legacy: unprincipled, power hungry and a blatant disregard for Canadian voter's wishes.
🚨 BREAKING
THREE MONTHS AGO, Marilyn Gladu signed a petition saying MPs who cross the floor should be FORCED into an immediate by-election.
Today, she crossed the floor to the Liberals.
Sarnia-Lambton gave her 40,365 votes as a Conservative.
53.3% of the riding.
A nearly 12,000 vote margin over the Liberal.
By her OWN standard from January, she should be calling the by-election right now.
This is past the point of hypocrisy.
This is fraud.
🚨 BREAKING
It’s a very dark day in Canada today.
The Liberals just voted down ALL FOUR Conservative public safety bills.
Bill C-246: consecutive sentences for sexual predators. So they serve time for EACH offence. Not a bulk discount.
VOTED DOWN.
Bill C-220: stop judges from giving lighter sentences to rapists and child predators because deportation might be a consequence.
VOTED DOWN.
Bill C-243: end the cycle that forces victims to relive their trauma at parole hearings year after year. Victims begged for this.
VOTED DOWN.
Bill C-242: the Jail Not Bail Act. Repeal catch and release for repeat violent offenders.
VOTED DOWN.
Tougher sentences for sex offenders? No.
Accountability for foreign criminals? No.
Mercy for victims? No.
Keeping dangerous people locked up? No.
Four bills.
Four chances to protect Canadians.
They said NO to all of them.
This is what they stand for.
NOTHING.
PS. What they will do tonight, is vote in favour of their own hate bill.
Because words matter more.
Happy 1st anniversary, Mark Carney!
-Deficit doubled
-Highest food inflation in the G7
-2nd highest unemployment in the G7
-No pipelines approved
-Homebuilding dropping 15%
-Immigration system still broken
-Violent crime skyrocketing in our major cities
A year later, illusion meets reality. Congratulations, sir, you’re just another Liberal.
Mark Carney is trying to seize a costly Liberal majority government that Canadians voted against in the last election through dirty backroom deals.
Matt Jeneroux has betrayed the people of Edmonton Riverbend who voted for affordable food and homes, safe streets, and a strong resource sector.
Conservatives will continue our fight for a Canada that's affordable, safe, and self-reliant.
To hold tight to power and money, the Carney Liberals have to convince Canadians of a great hoax.
That hoax is that the fault of every problem in Canada is not their own 11 years in power, their own cruddy, rancid and radical policies on energy, immigration, crime, race and sex, and now on trade.
The hoax is it’s all the fault of Trump, not them.
And that if we can all just hate on Trump enough everything will be better.
But that is a lie.
It’s a hoax.
Things will only get better in Canada when we axe our self-defeating policies and mindsets.
Canada will only become prosperous like we were in the first 15 years of this century when we take responsibility for our terrible, extremist policy choices.
Will the Liberals get away with this hoax?
It’s up to you.
Ok, now do Carney:
-hadn’t lived in Canada for a decade
-his wife lives in the US
-his daughter lives in the US
-nearly 100% of his investments, are in the US
-he approved the move of Brookfield HQ to the US
And he wants us to “buy Canadian”?
That’s inflationary protectionists policies that is counterintuitive to his speech at Davos where he spoke of the fortress walls being put up.
Carney may not have the citizenship, but he certainly seems to love the US more than he loves Canada.
Why are Canadian seniors so pro-Carney?
Why do they still buy into all the cruddy failed and harmful progressive left ideas on crime, immigration, the economy, and energy.
Because they still mainly get their information from TV news.
And for some reason they still believe it to be true.
It’s incredibly sad how you flaunt this rhetoric on a global stage but fail your citizens domestically.
The WEF itself, is a joke. And its ideas that infected Liberal MPs, is responsible for many of the issues we now face today.
You speak of a rupture of the old system, but that rupture happened as a result of Ottawa.
You were the economic advisor for the liberal party for the better part of half a decade. You, along with your government, waged war against our ability to produce wealth, in favour of impossible-to-reach ideals.
We are not a superpower, because your government held us back. Putting up roadblocks to projects, over spending tens of billions of dollars overseas, and allowing our armed forces & infrastructure to crumble.
Even now, you debate not fulfilling the order of F 35’s despite their incredible supremacy.
Nothing has changed. If only the world knew the truth. You want to be a perspective, global leader, but you ignore those who you represent and elected you in the first place.
It’s a shameful legacy. No matter how badly you or the mainstream media tries to rewrite reality.
@OilersNation Connor might want to consider suggesting to the coaching staff ideas that might help. Such as I don’t have a great shoot out percentage. Maybe we should take myself and RNH off and give some of our young guns a chance.
