@MCG58 This is so true; acknowledge their frustration and then help them rewrite the story with baby action steps to help them rebuild their confidence.
@ingridoliver100 @richardosman But Richard where is the wonderful Lesley Manville? The Audible narration does the job but Lesley’s pace and voice is so much a part of the characters that I confess I’m struggling to love #3 🤷🏼♀️😏
It is still here.
There are still 1200 people dying every day. That’s a rate of 440,000 deaths/year.
40,000 from accidents
70,000 from opioids
I have a work colleague in the hospital right now who got COVID last week. It’s serious & we don’t know the outcome. 2/
@Nettythe1st@BevJohnst My pregnant DIL was strong advised to get vaccinated by her very senior OB/GYN. He said her risks if unvaccinated were similar to an 70+ year old person.
@richardosman 3:18 in the morning and I’ve just finished The Man Who Died Twice. Thanks for those cliffhanger chapter endings and Joyce chapters, Three hours sleep will do. 🤦🏼♀️ Yes, it’s fabulous and thank you.
When asked about the deaths Gladys went straight to the deaths in Victoria last year. @GladysB those deaths were in Federally run aged care facilities. But have another go at Victoria.
@MFWitches Agreed. I wasn’t exactly thrilled about the complete stuff up but I was vaccinated ASAP for myself, my family, my friends and all the complete strangers I’ll never meet in my community.
NSW recorded 919 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.
178 are linked to a known case or cluster – 153 are household contacts and 25 are close contacts – and the source of infection for 741 cases is under investigation.
@ProfPCDoherty Sorry I appreciate that AZ and traditional vaccines use an inactive DNA and that mRNA is a ‘code’ for the relevant virus signature (ok, lay terms). The thing of interest I saw implied there was a new way of making traditional DNA vaccines. But thank you for your excellent answer
@ProfPCDoherty Did I read correctly that a DNA vaccine has been developed? This would seem like an even bigger ‘sell’ to the hesitant cohort than the mRNA has been.
80% vaccination levels will be a good start but it looks as if some preventative behaviors will need to stay.
A grim warning from Israel: Vaccination blunts, but does not defeat Delta | Science | AAAS https://t.co/UCXcWS7261
Summary and link to study showing AZ immunity may last longer than Pfizer. Also suggestions elsewhere that Moderna may outperform because it has more mRNA. Might be paying the price of compressing phase 2 studies on dosage. https://t.co/n2ljU0nEj3
