Earlier today, Trump held a big pathetic event in the Oval Office to officially sign an order directing the pointless renaming. The move comes amidst his new, self-destructive trade war with Canada and escalating, deranged rhetoric against our closest ally.

"The lake change, the Lake ⁠of America, was something I've been thinking about for a long ​time, actually," Trump said during the signing.

The renaming has gone over like a lead balloon with average Americans who are struggling to afford groceries, gas, and rent due to Trump's disastrous Iran War. Everyone outside of the MAGA cult sees this as a transparent attempt to distract from myriad failures. It's akin to jangling keys in front of a cat.

BREAKING: The Congressional Budget Office drops a bombshell on Donald Trump by revealing that his "big, beautiful bill" will add a truly jaw-dropping $2.4 trillion to the national deficit over the coming decade.

And it gets so much worse...

The nonpartisan CBO estimates that the plutocratic MAGA tax cuts — which are designed to shovel even more wealth to the super rich and corporations by locking in expired tax rules from Trump's 2017 law — in conjunction with other changes will decrease revenues by over $3.6 trillion over the same time period.

Thanks to Trump's urging, the bill will skyrocket the Pentagon's already disgustingly bloated budget to over $1 trillion for the first time in American history. At the same time, it will gut Medicaid and result in roughly 15 million Americans losing their healthcare coverage by 2034.

According to Republicans, we have plenty of money for bullets and bombs to drop overseas but not a penny to spare for insulin or chemotherapy.

The CBO's staggering estimate comes a day after MAGA billionaire Elon Musk attacked the bill as a "disgusting abomination" because of what it does to the deficit.

"I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore," he wrote on X. "This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it."

"It will massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden American citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt," he added.

As usual, Republicans only care about the debt and deficit when Democrats are in control. They have no problem spending money, so long as it’s going to the rich.

BREAKING: Music superstar Bono of U2 fame leaps to Bruce Springsteen's defense and unloads on Donald Trump with a fiery takedown, says that there's "only one boss in America" and exposes his MAGA lies.

The entire music world is allying against Trump now...

"Trump or Bruce Springsteen?" Jimmy Kimmel asked Bono on his show.

"I think there’s only only one boss in America," Bono replied.

Kimmel then showed Bono one of Trump's deranged Truth Social posts in which he alleged that Springsteen, Bono, and other top celebrities were paid to endorse Kamala Harris in 2024, as if any sane person would need to be convinced to vote against Trump.

"I don’t want to cut in on your action, because I know the president at 1 a.m. or 1:30 or whatever that was is usually thinking about you," said Bono.

"Two points I’ll make: One, to be in the company of Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé, and Oprah, I’d play tambourine in that band," he continued. "And two, U2 and I have never been paid or played a show to support any candidate from any party. That never happened."

"And you know it's called Truth Social, it seems to be pretty antisocial," he added. "It's not very true a lot of the time! But a clue to being in such esteemed company might be the fact that I cofounded the One Campaign, which is by design bipartisan".

"And we’ve got a lot of very religious Catholics, evangelicals, conservatives, who are very, very, very angry with the person that they voted into office, having demolished instruments of mercy and compassion like USAID or PEPFAR which had saved 26 million lives of people who had AIDS around the world," Bono continued.

"That’s the America that we love. That’s the America that we all want to be part of, and they are not happy, and there will be trouble," he added.

Bono's bold words come after a string of attacks from Trump on Springsteen after the singer kicked off his European tour by announcing that America is "currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration."

Trump threatened to launch a "major investigation" into Springsteen over his support of Kamala Harris. He insulted the beloved musician by calling him "highly overrated," a "pushy, obnoxious JERK, and a “dried out 'prune' of a rocker."

This is all so transparent. These feuds are a desperate attempt by Trump to distract from his utterly failed administration. His trade wars have been a disaster for the economy and the American people, our global alliances are in tatters, and the United States is the laughingstock of the world. Trump would rather pick fights with celebrities than roll up his sleeves and fix the problems that he's created.

BREAKING: MAGA world melts down as the Catholic Church elects American Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost to become Pope Leo XIV — a man who has slammed Donald Trump and J.D. Vance in the past.

Republicans wanted a far-right pope and instead they got a continuation of Pope Francis' legacy...

In February, then-Cardinal Prevost shared a piece on X entitled "JD Vance is wrong: Jesus doesn't ask us to rank our love for others" in which the author pushed back on Vance's claim that Christians should love their family first, then their neighbor, then their community, then their fellow citizens, then the rest of the world.

Vance was attempting to twist Catholic theology to defend his virulent anti-migrant views by suggesting that Christians don't have to prioritize care for anyone beyond their immediate familial circle.

The then-Cardinal also retweeted a message slamming Trump and El Salvadoran Dictator Nayib Bukele for the "illicit" deportation of innocent Maryland father Kilmar Abrego Garcia and the "suffering" caused by MAGA deportation policy.

On top of that, he shared an article from the conservative American Cardinal Timothy Dalton entitled "Why Donald Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric is so problematic" which condemned the "nativism" espoused by the MAGA movement. The piece also stated that Christians should see "the immigrant as a gift to our nation" and "welcome the stranger."

Pope Leo XIV is expected to carry on his predecessor's legacy of advocating for action on climate action, upholding social justice, and caring for the global poor. In other words, he will stand for everything that MAGA opposes.

Trump himself has already reacted to the announcement with a pro forma congratulations message on Truth Social that was likely written by a staffer.

"Congratulations to Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, who was just named Pope. It is such an honor to realize that he is the first American Pope," wrote Trump's account. "What excitement, and what a Great Honor for our Country. I look forward to meeting Pope Leo XIV. It will be a very meaningful moment!"

Once Trump gets a better sense of Pope Leo XIV's beliefs — namely that Christians are called to love and care for all of the people of the world, not just white conservatives — the president will likely be singing a very different tune. If and when that attack comes, we will proudly stand with Pope Leo's love and kindness against Trump's hatred and cruelty.

BREAKING: MAGA Governor Ron DeSantis is caught in a jaw-dropping scandal as it's exposed that he funneled $10 million in taxpayer money to his wife's charity, who gave it to dark money groups, who then donated $8.5 million to his minion's PAC.

Even Republicans are calling this illegal. It's the kind of corruption that ends up in history books...

The scandal originated with a settlement agreement between Florda and Centene, the state's largest Medicaid contractor, after it was discovered that the company had over-billed taxpayers for medications by a staggering $67,048,611.

Instead of depositing that money in state and federal accounts like they were supposed to, DeSantis's administration funneled $10 million of it to the Hope Florida Foundation, a charity overseen by his wife Casey DeSantis.

That money was then rerouted to two dark money organizations that are not legally required to report how they spend their funds. Those very same groups then turned around and gave $8.5 million to a PAC overseen by DeSantis’ then-chief of staff.

The stunning embezzlement scheme was exposed by a draft agreement obtained by The Miami Herald which directly contradicts claims made by DeSantis and his officials that the $10 million contribution from Centene was separate from the Medicaid settlement.

"This is kind of like a cherry on top, where they agreed to make an additional contribution," DeSantis lied.

This is nothing short of a heist of public funds. DeSantis took money that belonged to the people of Florida and deposited it right into the pocket of his wife and his lackey's political action committee.

If DeSantis and everyone involved in this crime don't end up behind bars, it will be a grave miscarriage of justice. Republicans all across the country will see it as open season on the public coffers.

Actress Issa Rae announced on Instagram in a brief statement that she is cancelling her "An Evening With Issa Rae" event slated for next month. Tickets will be refunded.

"Unfortunately, due to what I believe to be an infringement on the values of an institution that has faithfully celebrated artists of all backgrounds through all mediums, I’ve decided to cancel my appearance at this venue," she wrote.

Trump made himself chairman of the center on Wednesday. Earlier this week he removed Biden appointees from the board and rammed in unqualified cronies including Second Lady Usha Vance and White House Chief of staff Susie Wiles.

Mega-successful television producer and writer Shonda Rhimes — the woman behind hit shows like Grey's Anatomy, Bridgerton, and Scandal among others — resigned as treasurer of the center's board yesterday.

She posted a quote from JFK on her Instagram: "If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes him."

Legendary soprano Renée Fleming resigned as artistic advisor to the center and while she avoided naming Trump, she praised David M. Rubenstein — the center's former chairman who was ousted.

Singer and songwriter Ben Folds stepped down from his role as advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra, which the Kennedy Center oversees.

"Given developments at the Kennedy Center, effective today I am resigning as artistic adviser to the N.S.O. Mostly, and above all, I will miss the musicians of our nation’s symphony orchestra — just the best!" Folds wrote on Instagram.

Adam Weiner of the band Low Cut Connie has also canceled an appearance at the center next month.

"Upon learning that this institution that has run nonpartisan for 54 years is now chaired by President Trump himself and his regime, I decided I will not perform there," he wrote on social media, adding that friends and fans were going to be "directly negatively affected by this administration’s policies and messaging."

This is the kind of rejection that infuriates Donald Trump more than anything. He has long wanted to be accepted by America's cultural elites. Instead, they see him for the cruel, fascist, incompetent failure he truly is.

BREAKING: Donald Trump gets hit right where it hurts most as Nielsen reveals that his inauguration drew far fewer viewers than Joe Biden's did — 24.59 million compared to 33.76 million.

And it gets even better...

Not only did Biden draw more viewers than Trump, Trump himself drew more viewers during his first inauguration. He drew in 30.64 million in 2017.

The figures are drawn from 15 different networks and are an average of the viewership from 10:30 a.m. ET to 7 p.m. ET.

17.4 million of viewers this time were 55 or over. 4.67 million were 35-54 and 1.43 million were 18-34.

Given Trump's well-documented fixation on viewership numbers, this is exactly the kind of thing that gets under his skin.

It turns out that despite electing him again, America is already bored with Donald.

BREAKING: Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum hits back hard at Donald Trump with a dire warning after he announces his disastrous tariffs — and breaks down exactly how idiotic his idea is.

This is what a real leader sounds like...

"Seventy percent of the illegal weapons seized from criminals in Mexico come from your country. We do not produce these weapons, nor do we consume synthetic drugs," she wrote in a letter to Trump which she read at a press conference.

"Tragically, it is in our country that lives are lost to the violence resulting from meeting the drug demand in yours," she added.

"One tariff will follow another and so on, until we put our common businesses at risk," she correctly predicted. Trump's suggestion that he will implement a 25% tariff on Mexico and Canada is utterly moronic and will only succeed at skyrocketing prices.

"I am convinced that North America’s economic strength lies in maintaining our trade partnership. This allows us to remain competitive against other economic blocs," she continued.

"For this reason, I believe that dialogue is the best path to understanding, peace, and prosperity for our nations. I hope our teams can meet soon to continue building joint solutions," Sheinbaum added.
