Been working on some cool stuff for my Maple server, built a discord helper bot that pulls character info/stats from the DB and composes it into a preview image using the https://t.co/OuouOmveXA API, also a daily ranking page (say hi to all my friends)

the next goal in this project is to have the bot pull mob/map/drop/quest information from a bunch of tables that are generated from the client/server

i’m going to animate her with some more frames and a blink + smile to make it a bit more immersive, she currently has the same script as the henesys face NPC, gotta make a custom coupon for her now

she’s effectively the mascot, i’ve used her in a lot of branding mockups

one thing that’s always shocked me about this stuff is that it even copies the fisheye lens that a lot of skate vids use, and the graffiti (while gibberish) is imitated quite well

the login screen is one massive vertical map that was explicitly designed for an 800x600 canvas and it was absurdly tedious, totally worth it tho

been working on an HD client for my maple server alongside some QoL and cosmetic improvements, and i’m incredibly proud of the re-stitching job i did to extend the login screen backgrounds

maplestory server development is going incredibly well, i feel like ive learned so much in the span of a 2 weeks and its been really rewarding

I’m working on a maplestory server again and my friends and I are playing it ironman style with minimal trading, using a proper development pipeline for .wz and server-side edits, and it’s going so well that it almost feels unfair, I guess I wasn’t nearly as capable back then
