THE STORY

@okunvoice shared a letter from Mr. Felix concerning Ijumu Local Government Chairman about not paying salary without verifying it. He was invited by the police in Kabba, detained for a few days and later transferred to Lokoja. He was instructed to report to the State CID on specific dates, which he consistently honored. His phone was seized from Kabba as the police stated it contained relevant evidence.

After several proceedings, he was formally charged in court and remanded in detention (14 days). His next hearing is scheduled for next month.

Throughout this period, he has issued a public apology to the chairman and his family has continued to plead for forgiveness. His offense was posting the letter without proper verification.

We respectfully appeal to members of the public, especially those close to the Ijumu Local Government chairman, to kindly forgive him.

🚨SECURITY ALERT: YAGBA WEST, KOGI STATE

Serious concerns are mounting over escalating insecurity in Yagba West Local Government Area, Kogi State. In the past few days, armed bandits have been repeatedly sighted in key forested areas.

• Ogbe Forest: Multiple sightings of armed groups reported in recent days.

• Oke-Ere Forest: Yesterday, six armed bandits were spotted by local timber operators.

• Koro Community: On Sunday, armed bandits stormed the area and engaged a forest guard in a gun battle.

Local sources warn that the bandits have mobilized in numbers across these forests, raising fears of further attacks.

Immediate intervention is needed: proper air surveillance and coordinated security operations across Ogbe, Oke-Ere, and Koro forests to prevent a repeat of tragedies similar to those in Woro, Kaiama LGA, Kwara State.
