Hi @github@moraes_c_ , I’m asking for help with the suspension of my GitHub account, 1lck.
This account means much more to me than a place to store code. Throughout university, I used it to build projects, make commits, and document my progress as a developer. It represents countless hours of learning, debugging, experimenting, and turning ideas into working software.
All of my own projects and code are hosted on this account. Its commit history records the effort I’ve put into developing my skills. My GitHub profile is also an important part of my portfolio when applying for jobs: it allows potential employers to see what I’ve built and how I work.
One of those projects is Lithe-IDEA, an independently developed, non-commercial open-source IDE for macOS and Windows, with a shared Rust core. It brings together code editing, language-server integration, Git workflows, and AI-assisted development.
We write our own application code while integrating established third-party open-source components. Lithe-IDEA is not an official JetBrains product, and we do not claim any affiliation with or endorsement by JetBrains. To the best of our understanding, the project does not infringe IntelliJ IDEA’s rights. If there is a specific concern about its name, code, assets, or licensing, please identify it so we can understand and address it.
I have not used GitHub Actions or Copilot for abusive or unauthorized purposes, nor configured workflows intended to evade GitHub’s restrictions. I use this account for software development, testing, and open-source collaboration.
The suspension affected my entire account, not just one repository. I can no longer access it normally, maintain my projects through GitHub, or collaborate with contributors. My work is also no longer accessible through the profile I use to demonstrate my skills when pursuing job opportunities.
I still have local copies of my current project, but those do not replace access to my account, its development history, issues, pull requests, and community discussions.
I have not found any prior warning or enforcement email explaining a problem or asking me to make changes before the suspension. I discovered it when trying to open a pull request I had just created.
I do not know what triggered this action. I do not want to assume it was related to Lithe-IDEA, its name, or any particular activity. I am asking for a clear explanation and an opportunity to address any specific concern.
I have submitted a reinstatement appeal through GitHub Support:
Ticket: #4838829
GitHub username: 1lck
Project: https://t.co/6BrmMPPxY2
I understand that Support may be handling many requests, and I appreciate what GitHub provides for open-source developers. But losing access to this account has interrupted work that matters deeply to me, both personally and professionally.
Could you please help route appeal #4838829 to the appropriate team for a human review? If anything requires correction, please let me know what it is so I can take the necessary steps.
I want to continue building, learning, and contributing to open source.
Thank you for reading and for any help getting this reviewed.
