Spring has arrived in the Midwest, but with spring comes the chances for more severe weather. When outages occur, our team at our power distribution control center works behind the scenes with crews in the field to restore power. We also manage our self-healing technology here.
💡In 2025, smart, self-healing technology helped avoid more than 380,000 customer outages in Ohio and Kentucky, saving more than 1.4 million hours of total outage time.
💡More than 75% (around 700,000) of our customers in the region are served by self-healing technology.
Today, we recognize Natural Gas Utility Workers' Day, celebrating the utility employees who safely and reliably deliver natural gas service to homes and businesses nationwide.
How do our crews stay ready to respond to outages year-round? Many spend time in the underground training area at our Dana Operations Center, where they can practice and simulate potential situations and keep themselves prepared 24/7, 365 days a year.
