@notcapnamerica Wrong generation. You're thinking of boomers, but the boomer "hippies" were not as prevalent as people think. There weren't that many of them overall. They stayed true, but the rest of them did also... they voted for Nixon in '72 and beyond.

@notcapnamerica We never had GenX hippies. I’m first-year GenX - 1965 - and hippies were sort of a thing in the 70s. I didn’t turn 18 until 1983, and then I went off to the Air Force. I did vote for Reagan in ‘84 tho.

@notcapnamerica Uh... Gen X were never hippies. There was a brief 60s retro flirtation that started in the late 80s and ran into the mid-90s, but there was a lot of cosplay going on with an X segment that just did the crunchy pothead thing for a few years in their teens and 20s.

GenX is alternative music, Doc Martens, IDGAF about anything, FAFO, terrible Boomer parents
