I also find it interesting that he took on the title of "captain" so eagerly and easily after he had just attempted suicide, like he's trying to pick himself up even though he knows that everything is fucked.

Plus he just can't deal with the guilt of what he did so he keeps trying to "fix" things and I like seeing him make everything just fall apart even further as he's trying to stay in control.
