Saoirse Ronan: “The first one that comes to mind is Maestro. When my husband and I went to see it a few years ago, we'd had a really bad day and we've been wanting to see it for so long, and we love those two, Bradley and Carrie so much, and we went to see it and was during the day, it was like Tuesday, and I hadn't seen anything like that in so long. That really felt like cinema and celebrating cinema, and like real meaty, big, deep performances that had like proper heart. And I was so impressed by Bradley being able to direct something like that, and also give a performance like that, and just I'd never seen Carrie be better, I don't think she'd ever had a chance to show what she could really do on the screen until that movie. And we both just felt like it really filled up our cup when we came out, and it gave us a lot of hope about the future of cinema.”
