@simonahac @tanya_plibersek Hannah Arendt compellingly argues for ‘just’ civil disobedience. It’s essential for a functioning democracy, along with media exposure.

But, qualifies Arendt, to be justified disobedience it must be public and in a group.

That’s what I teach students: activism is bravery.

@ShawnRuby7 @Collectivis1The Neoplatonism’s city of God. Democracy is rule by popularity. Neoplatonism is rule by the Good, a recipe for theocracy. Plato asks, should not the wisest rule? Aristotle’s mixed constitution combining modes of government proves the most effective, but is still fragile.
