My culture isn’t a costume, a punchline, or something to imitate for cheap laughs. You can be funny without disrespecting traditions that mean something to people. What makes it worse is mocking our culture, brushing off our feelings, and then expecting us to stay quiet when we speak up. We have every right to call out disrespect. Being told to “take a joke” doesn’t make it any less offensive, and our voices don’t become invalid just because speaking up makes others uncomfortable.
take that culture appropriating shit OUT OF MY TL. and no you cannot dictate if a desi person should or should not be okay with it. you aren't offended? u do u, i hope u grow up but that doesn't give y'all the right to dictate how another desi person should feel about it.
bhai tum log atleast deny toh mat karo ke it wasn't indian at all?😭 it was intended bharatnatyam that i hope was done with sincerety but it turned out plainly disrespectful with all that styling and stereotypical music, let's not lie to ourselves to defend our favs
more than the company or performance, I'm mad at the desi fans defending it you cannot be this stupid. You don't have to be a dancer to know it's literally a SACRED dance form, you do it BAREFEET, you PRAY before practicing. People put years of practice and give LITERAL EXAMS.
