Coinbase app ranking went from 500 to 410 in just 72 hours.
Retail is coming back.
I'm monitoring this closely.
The higher it ranks, the more cooked the market. Top 50 is the danger zone where we must pay very close attention to exiting.
@0xCygaar Eth has revolutionized defi, nfts, and decentralized computing. It’s crazy that its impact still gets overlooked despite dominating in so many key areas
It's funny hearing VCs say "Ethereum has no product market fit" despite it being:
- the first chain to introduce smart contracts
- the first chain with defi (and still the dominant player)
- the origin of NFTs (still has the most valuable NFTs)
- the chain with the most TVL (by a wide margin)
- the originator of the EVM (huge network effects across different chains, tooling, and libraries)
- the most decentralized computing platform in the world
Insane that I have to come on here and state these things, but for some reason ETH gets dragged more than any other ecosystem.
@sassal0x Agreed! Scaling Ethereum while preserving decentralization is crucial. Defining a minimum viable setup for solo stakers will keep things accessible as we move forward
Imagine you're trying to understand a book, but instead of reading it all at once, you're looking at it word by word. That's what the encoder does with "input tokens" - it's like taking each word and trying to figure out what it means and how it relates to the other words.
Now, the encoder has a few clever tricks up its sleeve:
Self-attention: This is like when you're reading and you suddenly remember, "Oh, this word relates to something I saw earlier!" It helps the encoder connect different parts of the input.
Feed-forward layers: Think of these as the encoder's way of digesting what it just figured out. It's like taking notes and summarizing what you've read so far.
Multi-head attention: This is like looking at the same sentence from different angles. Maybe one time you're focusing on grammar, another time on the meaning, and another on how it sounds.
Add & Norm: This is just a way of keeping things tidy and making sure all the information plays well together.
The encoder does this over and over (that's the "Nx" in the diagram), each time getting a better understanding of the input.
What comes out at the end? "Context-aware representations." It's like the encoder has now read the whole book and understands not just what each word means on its own, but how it fits into the bigger picture.
And just like how understanding a book helps you write your own stories, these representations help the machine understand and generate language in a way that makes sense in context.
It's a bit like teaching a computer to read between the lines, only we're doing it with math and clever algorithms instead of human intuition. Isn't that something?
@sassal0x Agreed, eth is unique as a decentralized asset. We’ve already seen disasters with stablecoins, though they’re really in a different league altogether.
ETH is *decentralised* money.
It doesn't matter who you are (or what you are), the only way anyone can take your self-custodied ETH from you is via force or a hack.
This is contrary to the most popular stablecoins today (USDC and USDT) which are completely centralised and have remote freeze functions in-built (yes, even if you self-custody them).
Stablecoins have their purpose in the Ethereum ecosystem, but they do not compete with ETH as decentralised and credibly neutral money and *never* will.
The trade-off is, of course, that ETH is much more volatile than something like a USD-pegged stablecoin. But if you're using ETH as a long-term store of value, then the volatility is just a futures bet on ETH becoming so valuable that it becomes humanities (and the machines!) preferred money.
ETH is decentralised money and so much more - let's keep scaling Ethereum so that we can scale ETH to the world!
Ethereum
• Supports EVM, SVM, MoveVM, etc.. via rollups
• Has multiple high throughput chains launching in next few months (with 0 vote transactions in benchmarks)
• Is years ahead in rollup innovation
• Can already be leveraged to build literally any decentralized service via restaking
• Has the most liquidity by wide margin
• Has the largest variety of supporting infrastructure by wide margin
• EVM has best tooling and has the most developers by at least an order of magnitude over anything else
• Has the most diversity of successful applications, especially non-financial like @farcaster_xyz & @LensProtocol
Never been a better time to be building in the Ethereum ecosystem.
this week in Singapore further confirmed in my mind that NYC is the capital of crypto - majority of people I met either live in NYC or visit there regularly
Parliamentary Motion at Breakpoint: This house will dissolve the Solana Foundation.
Speaking FOR: @DanPaul000, executive director of the Solana Foundation
Speaking AGAINST: @viktorfischer, CEO of Rockaway.
wdyt? decentralization taken to its logical conclusion?
