When Black Defence Lawyers, an integral part of the justice system machinery, are assaulted, mistreated or other abused by other justice system participants - including the police, it undermines public trust and reinforces our view about the systemic and systematic racism, racial profiling and racist mistreatment that is endemic in our system of justice. Durham Regional Police Services (DRPS) @DRPS can do better and must do better. The public is awaiting an explanation on the events that occurred at the Oshawa Courthouse on Bond Street.
