@Gajeske@DogWalkBarstool Why you enjoy baseball? Which is a slow and very long game. Nothing wrong with it, we have something similar with cricket but curious as to why “soccer” is so hated if you’re interested in baseball
@kylekirms@anthonycdemaria If you follow your team, first you want your team to win being entertained is second. Once you’re invested & understand the emotion/tension/entertainment of the game when watching your own team, you’ll appreciate the rest even watching as a natural.
@kylekirms@anthonycdemaria Suppose you have to be invested to feel the tension to appreciate it. If you’ve skin in the game you aren’t looking to be entertained if you’re hanging on to a 1-0 with minutes to go. You’re looking to survive and see it out being entertained is the last thing on your mind
@kylekirms@anthonycdemaria Of it being difficult and hoping we take one of the few chances that come our way and if one of those few chances come as a team might be tiring that’s all part of it. Worrying your players might make a mistake due to being tired could cost you the game etc
@anthonycdemaria@kylekirms It adds to the tension of the game. Seeing teams tire and momentum shifts etc whether it’s if you’re leading and hanging on or looking to get back into the game. It brings the tension and that’s the entertainment part which I think Americans struggle with
@GehrigDieter I appreciate NFL and enjoy it, but calling “soccer boring” from a ex player of a game that has 10 seconds play and stops for another break is quite the take. Bit of self awareness needed I think
@beesley_cathy@prodnose They are all codes of football. The clue is in there names RFU- rugby football union RFL- rugby football league. Aussie Rules- AFL
@StuartMiles11@prodnose It’s rugby football league hence the governing body being called the RFL and same with rugby union - Rugby football union- RFU
They’re all codes of football
Same with Aussie rules football & Gaelic football
@AdamEdwards73@heykayadams You don’t need your team to be there to enjoy the World Cup. You want your team there but it’s still a month’s worth of high level football.
@justinallen1976 So if a team fields an ineligible player for a small amount of time and had no bearing on a game like has gone on the past & have then been kicked out. Are you saying teams shouldn’t have been kicked out
@donhutch4 Have a look at these Don see if you’re unbiased eyes are telling you if these are pens also

@ste_0076@lucyjward_ Agree, the Leeds punishment was a token settlement as no rule was in place & it clearly wasn’t a big enough deterrent for Southampton therefore to avoid embarrassing and unedifying situations in future as Lucy puts it, punish them harder with sporting sanctions
@lucyjward_ But you’re arguing from a morale perspective not a legal perspective Leeds were given a token punishment because there was no legal case to punish Leeds further Leeds basically settled
It doesnt mean Leeds shouldn’t have been punished further as it clearly hasnt been a deterrent
