I start by filtering out the tags I will definitely not read (but then I still check cause some slip through the cracks) + select my desired wordcount, no crossovers and completed stories only. Then I read the summary, and if everything checks out I start reading โฌ
The first paragraphs to see if I might like the style (for example, it it's a first person POV I get the hell out of Dodge in .6 ms flat). Poorly formatted fics are also a no. Then, and only then, do I download the fic onto my kindle and start reading
I love slowburn romances as much as the next girl, but it kind of makes me aww when I see people declare that waiting half a book or like two seasons is a SLOW slowburn. Try waiting 12 years and then we'll talk ๐
