I think Nolan’s Odyssey was very obviously using the framework of an ancient story to make a point about the modern western world and was never meant to be a straight text to screen adaptation and if you don’t understand that maybe film is just not the medium for you.
This is all crazy because in every other context if someone was describing a movie, tv show, or book to you that you both expereinced and was very clearly recalling the events wrong you would rightly say "what the fuck are you talking about"
not one of nolan’s strongest shooters (though i insist oppenheimer one of the best of the 21st century) but i thought the odyssey was so excellently done and then like 90% of the reviews i’ve read of it are some of the most unfair albeit moronic criticisms i’ve ever seen lol
