More than 12,000 pounds of bacon have been recalled after they were imported into the U.S. from Canada without undergoing the required federal import reinspection, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The recall affects select Royale Natural Applewood Smoked Uncured Bacon and TOP VALU Uncured Hardwood Smoked Bacon 12-ounce packages produced in June and sold through Grocery Outlet stores and distributors in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. No illnesses have been reported, but consumers are urged not to eat the affected products and should either throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
