Look here, it often drops as low as 20 GW every night. We’re a lot closer than you think. Take off nuclear, hydro tidal and solar and we don’t need much fossil fuels to make up the difference.

@GMBGarySmith The only dishonest thing here is the pushing of hydrogen boilers.
It’s going to be so much more expensive than heat pumps.
I’ve had my home retrofitted relatively cheaply by an excellent team of engineers from @OctopusEnergy and the heat pump is working very well.

We need better cheaper solutions for public charging and destination charging by installing mass quantities of cheap 7kWh charging.

@HibbsA @Tytalus7 @InstaVoltUK @ElecHighway I don’t have a problem with paying a premium price for a premium service if I need a rapid charger, but then more than 95% of the time I’m charging for 7.5p per kWh off peak, or solar.
The thing it seems a shame for is people without off street parking.
