Parents...
"If you think having uncomfortable conversations is hard, wait until you see the results of not having them."
- Lane Beachley
Great reminder for me today👍🏽
It is hard to imagine how revolutionary it was for Paul, in the first century, to write, "the husband does not have authority over his own body, but his wife does." (1 Cor 7:4).
Happy 50th, #TitleIX50! I was honored to speak about my film @riseofthewahine on Living808 to celebrate the INCREDIBLE transformation it has helped bring to women and girl's lives across the country.

“Any fool can have a child. That doesn’t make you a father. It’s the courage to raise a child that makes you a father.” - Barack Obama #theparenthoodlife#parentsofteensunite
Parents, when it comes to technology, what are you celebrating? Your kids know what you dislike about tech. You probably say that quite often. Do they know what you like? Things that we celebrate get repeated. Things that we complain about get tuned out.
“We do not live this life to build a monument to ourselves, but to pass our understanding of life on to those who come behind us so that their stories can be even more meaningful than ours.” - Donald Miller #theparenthoodlife#heroonamission
Adults sometimes worry that they'll compromise their authority if they admit mistakes to teens. In fact, it's the opposite. Teens know when we're in the wrong and appreciate it when we own our errors.
Parents, not knowing your child’s passwords would be like them having the only key to an apartment in another city. Then you driving them to that city, dropping them off, and saying “Have over whoever you want, whenever you want.” You probably won’t do that. Know their passwords.

Agreed. This might seem like a small thing, dads, but I feel it’s super important. AND to teach our kids who are tickling their younger siblings the same lesson.
If you are tickling your child and they say “stoooop” even while they are still howling laughing, listen to them right away and stop—it’s a good way to teach consent and show them what it means to have their boundaries and body respected.
