At the 2026 ICT Sector Annual Performance Review Retreat, Dr. Fredrick E. Kitoogo - UICT Principal, shared the Institute’s progress and ambitions as it continues to strengthen its contribution to Uganda’s #DigitalTransformation programme.
📈 The numbers tell a strong story
In FY2025/26, UICT expanded its digital-skilling footprint by training 36,332 citizens, 1,932 Government officers, 1,207 educators and TVET instructors and 8,977 participants in immersive and emerging technology skills. The Institute also delivered 65 certified trainers and developed 21 AVR/XR courses and modules.

In a blended ceremony bringing together online and physical participation, UICT officially launched its Strategic Plan 2025/26–2029/30. The Chief Guest, @amoblazem, representing @azawedde - PS, @MoICT_Ug, joined virtually, while the Chairperson Governing Council, @DeanMunene, represented the official signing of the physical dummy at the event. This milestone marks UICT’s renewed commitment to digital skills, innovation, accountable service delivery and national transformation over the next five years.
