@SecretaryBurgum@POTUS Coal is more expensive than any renewable, except offshore wind, let alone other fossil fuels. Natural gas is cheaper per unit and produces no ash.
@WallStreetApes This isn't the thing that will lower healthcare costs. You need to do a broader analysis of the cost drivers in healthcare and tackle them, focusing on pure overhead costs first.
Student loans need to be restructured. Folks whose "low monthly payment" barely covers interest so they never make headway on principal wind up paying multiples of the principal in interest. At some point you have to rethink how financing works... maybe cap the interest or use a flat fee instead.
This is good information and clearly shows that when deportations are done, lawfully, and correctly, the public doesnβt have a problem. But when you are breaking multiple human rights laws just to try to deport people like animals, you will have social unrest.
@SecretaryBurgum The economics of offshore wind don't make sense, but onshore wind and solar are cheaper -- by a LOT -- than coal, gas, and nuclear. Lumping all "green" energy together is ridiculous.
@Saganismm IMO, it's everything from the reasons you mentioned to rejecting authoritative sources because politicians they like are claiming (without legitimate basis) that those sources are tainted.
@SecretaryBurgum That being said, I will clarify that I don't believe offshore wind makes as much sense as onshore wind, or solar (particularly rooftop). The high installation and maintenance costs put its per-kWh costs up there with non-renewable sources.
@SecretaryBurgum Baloney. The costs are on a case-by-case basis, with nuclear being the most expensive on average. Even coal is more expensive when comparing the top end of both ranges.
@CaptMarkKelly The economics of offshore wind don't make as much sense as onshore wind and solar projects. It costs too much to install and maintain, for a non-competitive cost per kWh.
