Warm congrats to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on his 70th birthday today! ❤️🇮🇳❤️
I am proud to consider myself a friend of Gurudev. He is a man of peace, compassion, love and knowledge. He embodies the leadership qualities the world today so desperately needs.
Since his wonderful Art of Living Ashram is near Bengaluru, many may not know that he was born in Tamil Nadu. And of course he is named after Adi Shankara, the 8th century Hindu reformer who taught the world the revolutionary idea of oneness.
Sri Sri has been involved in numerous peace efforts across the globe. I came to know him when we both pursued peace in Sri Lanka. He incarnates the idea that we should aim for inner peace as well as peace in our communities and at the world scene.
Gurudev believes in both spirituality and science. He encourages us not by a fixed set of dogma, but to become seekers, always looking for better and more moral answers. He makes us better versions of ourselves.
Congrats Gurudev! May you have many more years to teach us and inspire us!

Warm birthday greetings to @Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji.
Through his teachings of peace, compassion and inner harmony, he has touched countless lives and inspired a more mindful way of living.
I pray to Maa Kamakhya and Srimanta Sankardev for his good health and long life.
A little long read… but I’m sure it will be worth it. ❤️
There’s this person who is loved, accepted, and respected by people from every religion across the world.
At a time when peace often feels difficult because of religious and ideological conflicts, there exists a man who is embraced by everyone, everywhere.
I had the privilege of being close to him during the pandemic, and every single day left me in awe. I have never seen him lose his smile, complain, blame, or reject anyone. He simply knows the language of love.
He connects effortlessly with everyone — from farmers to politicians, businessmen to prisoners, housewives to youngsters. Every person feels comfort and belonging around him. Being with him feels like being embraced by a loving mother.
I have always been a skeptic — someone who questions everything. When I first heard about him, I simply wished to know him better. It’s been more than 15 years now… and I still wish to know him. But now I realize that fully knowing him is impossible… and yet somehow possible too.
Because once he said:
“T um khud ko jaan lo, toh mujhe jaan jaoge.”
He is celebrating his 70th birthday today.
Since last night, I’ve been wondering what to write, but honestly, I’m still clueless. Even while writing this, I have no prepared thoughts — I’m simply typing whatever comes from the heart. Because no words can truly describe his magnanimity.
Once, my teacher said:
“We don’t believe in miracles, we rely on miracles.”
And believe me when I say this — it is absolutely true.
There have been countless moments in my life, and in the lives of so many others, where logic, science, or reasoning simply fail to explain what happened. All we know is that there is some divine force protecting and guiding us every single day.
The biggest celebrities and superstars fade into the background when he is around. Not because of his influence, reach, or position — but because he celebrates life itself. He celebrates love. He celebrates existence.
I have seen people literally jump over crowds just to get close to him, wait for hours for a single glimpse, fill airports, ashrams, roads, and beaches wherever he goes. Yet the most beautiful thing is this — even in a crowd of thousands, somehow, you feel seen by him. You feel that he is there only for you.
Reading scriptures once felt impossible for me, until I started listening to Gurudev’s discourses.
Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Ashtavakra Gita, Shiva Sutras — teachings that once felt too profound for my small mind suddenly became simple, relatable, and deeply alive through his words.
Sometimes I feel my soul had been longing for this spiritual transformation all along. It was searching for a true Guru until I found him.
It is truly one of the rarest blessings in life to have a Guru.
And today, my Guru turns 70.
@Gurudev I love you. ❤️
This afternoon, took part in the 45th anniversary celebrations of Art of Living and also inaugurated the Dhyan Mandir. My compliments to all those associated with Art of Living for their rich service to society, which is clearly reflected in their various initiatives.
@ArtofLiving@Gurudev
Tomorrow, 10th May, I will be attending various programmes in Karnataka and Telangana.
At 11 AM tomorrow, I will join the programme to mark the 45th anniversary celebrations of the establishment of the Art of Living. In line with our ethos of serving society, they have been doing commendable work across a wide range of sectors.
In the afternoon, I will reach Hyderabad, where development works worth around Rs. 9500 crore will be inaugurated or their foundation stones will be laid. These works cover sectors such as roads, logistics, textiles, railways, energy and more. I will then join the programme to dedicate the Sindhu Hospital to the nation.
In the evening, I will address a BJP rally in the city. Fed up of the BRS misrule earlier and the Congress misrule now, Telangana is looking towards the BJP. Our rising support indicates our Party is Telangana’s preferred choice!

India is where spirituality blossomed on a battlefield, in the form of the Bhagavad Gita. Peace and valor have always coexisted here, and the world needs both today.
Honored war veterans and families of martyrs at the @ArtofLivingIC with the Shaurya Samman Awards, organized by @AryavarthThe. Their sacrifice for the safety and security of the country is immeasurable.
Shivratri is the bridge between the material world and the ethereal world within you.
It is a time to dive inward, withdrawing from external engagements to rest in your Self.
Singing, chanting, and puja are just aids for this.
