As someone who creates local xiv events in the ph, Idk how many times I’ve heard at hewo that folks go “I never knew we had a bigger community” or “man, I wish we could’ve had this years ago” because cons no longer foster fandoms or communities. (1/6)

been thinking mildly abt how anime cons used to be for all sorts of niche anime-adjacent interests but in recent years have become spaces where the niche and obscure cannot survive. Cons aren't a place for fandoms anymore. I think that's what a lot of complaints are identifying

This is where my motivation comes from to keep going! That a small meet up of 30 people outside con premises turned into a bigger fan event with the community as a driving force, proves that the love and passion is still alive and kicking and opens alot of possibilities!!! (5/6)
