Aerial footage captures the dramatic aftermath of a mudslide that occurred on the Nepalese side of the China-Nepal border and struck Gyirong Port in Gyirong County, southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, on Wednesday morning.
A barrier lake has formed near Gyirong Port, with the mudslide’s edge about 2.5 km from the port and nearly 1.5 meters thick, posing significant challenges to ongoing rescue efforts, according to China Anneng Construction Group Co., Ltd.
Stepping into the Nepal Premier League with Karnali Yaks this season felt like a refreshing new chapter in my career, i.e. a continuation of the journey I have lived with bat in hand for more than a decade. Playing overseas now offers a different kind of excitement, new dressing rooms, fresh faces, different cultures, unfamiliar wickets and conditions that force you to adapt in real time, and that is something I have deeply enjoyed in Nepal.
My debut for Karnali Yaks is something I will remember fondly. Walking out to bat at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, there was an air of competitiveness that reminded me why cricketers chase opportunities like these even after years in first-class cricket. I was able to find rhythm early, and the 90 off 48 balls that came that day was a personal reassurance that the hunger remains intact, that timing and power still meet in the middle when the mind is clear and the body is willing, and that cricket still gives me butterflies the way it did years ago.
As someone who has played 283 matches across formats and scored over 14,000 runs, I have always believed that growth never stops, no matter what stage of your career you stand at. The Nepal Premier League has been an important experience for me, in fact, personally as well. Sharing space with international names, understanding the mindset of young Nepalese players, talking cricket endlessly in hotel lobbies, observing how fans celebrate every run with heart; there is a charm here that reminds you why sport brings people together across borders.
The game has given me everything, and if playing global leagues allows me to keep expressing myself, keep growing and keep competing, then this chapter with Karnali Yaks is only the first page. I want to thank the team management, coaches, fans and everyone associated with the league for the warmth and support. Cricket continues. The journey continues, and the bat will continue to speak. #NepalPremierLeague
They say hospitality shows you the true picture of the intrinsic culture of a country. I’ve been warmed by the way the Nepali people and the cricketing fraternity has greeted me in my time here. Looking forward to coming back more often. #NepalPremierLeague
@RichKettle07 Bro ! At least try to give a fact news. With real headline . Indian group approached the player. After that, they came from India to Nepal. Then the player called him to the hotel, but he had already informed his teammates, the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit, and the Nepal Police.
What an achievement!!
One month ago it was a dream to play against any full members . But story is getting different now. well done Team .

@Criktalks Turning easiest games into thrillers has become a habit for 🇳🇵but it's not good.Teams of same level might still win such close games but against a high-level team Nep can't pull it off. We saw same thing in the WorldCup as Nepal dragged the match to the end &Lost to South Africa
