Students from the Career Innovation Center, in partnership with BSSD Human Resources, organized the first-ever Aspiring Teachers Conference. BSSD student teachers and CIC Introduction to Teaching students were in attendance.

Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Liz Talamantez and Superintendent Dr. Bob Jerome spoke about the benefits of working in education and within the Blue Springs School District. Attendees also had the opportunity to hear from and network with BSSD alumni who are currently pursuing degrees in education.

Over the weekend, Blue Springs South High School Head Baseball Coach Ben Baier was inducted into the Class of 2026 Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame!

Coach Baier has been coaching baseball at Blue Springs South since 1999, where he served as assistant coach until becoming the head coach in 2009. 

Baier holds the school record with 307 career wins as a head coach. His teams have won 10 district championships with four appearances in the Final Four (2014, 2018, 2022, 2025). Last spring, Baier led the Jaguars in a comeback to win the 2025 Missouri Class 6 State Championship.

Congratulations to Coach Baier on this outstanding achievement! ⚾️🎉
