Pavel Durov just posted on Telegram:
💸 “If your wallet doesn’t look like this, don’t even bother sending me money for my birthday! 🎂”
His birthday is October 10.
The Gram Wallet timing makes this even more interesting.

Telegram’s latest update is already out. Gram Wallet is the missing piece.
The groundwork is there, but the wallet is still disabled for users.
A few things to watch:
• Gram Wallet: The update is live, but the wallet itself hasn’t been activated for everyone yet.
• Durov’s birthday: October 10 is his birthday. Could this be the moment Telegram finally flips the switch? No confirmation yet, but the timing is worth watching.
• REDO: Designers have already confirmed that the new gift designs are ready. Now the question is when they’ll go live.
Tomorrow could be an important day for the TON ecosystem.
The update is here. The designs are ready.
Will Telegram activate Gram Wallet and REDO on Durov’s birthday?
October 10 could be a big day for TON.
A few things line up:
• Gram Wallet rollout is already underway, with Telegram saying it would reach its billion+ user base over the following weeks.
• October 10 is Pavel Durov’s birthday. Last year, Telegram released new gifts and multiple gift upgrades on the same date.
• REDO upgrades are also heavily anticipated. Reports from the gift ecosystem say the REDO upgrade models are ready, with the release timing still unknown.
So October 10 has a pretty interesting setup:
Gram Wallet + new gifts + REDO upgrades + potentially more Telegram/TON updates.
Not confirmed.
But definitely a date worth watching.
Telegram’s Gram Wallet beta is adding more features with every new build.
Testers have spotted:
• Collectibles section for NFTs held by the wallet
• QR scanning and quick wallet address copying
• GRAM purchases through Walt via card, P2P, or crypto from another network
• 2FA prompt immediately after creating a wallet
The Walt → Gram wallet connection is particularly interesting.
Walt can handle the broader financial side, while Gram wallet is shaping up around simple holding, transfers, collectibles and Telegram-native features.
What stands out so far is how much functionality is being added before the public rollout.
And visually, the wallet already looks seriously polished. The UI feels very native to Telegram.
Telegram Wallet just disappeared from Telegram settings.
And that’s not a bug.
Wallet is now Walt.
The reason is actually bigger than a rebrand.
Walt has grown from a simple crypto wallet into a full financial platform with 300+ assets, trading, Earn, perpetuals, tokenized stocks and ETFs.
So Telegram is splitting the experience into two products:
Gram Wallet → simple crypto for everyday Telegram users
Hold, send, receive, Gifts, Stars and other basic functions.
Walt → the advanced side
Trading, investing, Earn, DeFi and multi-chain assets.
Walt now lives at @walt, while the old @wallet handle still works. Existing balances, addresses and transaction history remain unchanged.
But the interesting part is what comes next.
Walt says crypto cards and AI-powered trading tools are on the roadmap.
So this looks less like “Wallet got a new name” and more like Telegram building a two-layer financial ecosystem:
Simple crypto for billions of Telegram users.
Advanced financial products for users who want more.
And Gram Wallet gets the most valuable real estate of all:
Telegram’s settings menu.
Something is changing on TON mainnet tomorrow.
TON Status has asked validators to be ready on September 30 from 06:00 UTC for a mandatory vote on a mainnet configuration update.
The interesting part?
We still don’t know exactly what is being changed.
TON’s configuration controls some of the network’s core parameters - including validator behavior, network capabilities, consensus settings and other protocol-level rules.
So what could this be?
• A network performance / consensus adjustment
• New validator capabilities
• Changes to existing configuration parameters
• Another step in TON’s recent infrastructure upgrades
And there’s a reason I’m watching this closely.
TON has already introduced Catchain 2.0 / Simplex consensus configuration on mainnet, with parameters covering QUIC, leader windows and synchronization behavior.
This vote could be another technical step in that direction - but until the actual proposal is published, that remains speculation.
One thing is certain:
September 30 - TON validators are voting.
Now we wait to see what’s actually inside the proposal.
