Everyone has read about Sambhav Jain. What happened to that poor man is happening to so many men around us. My questions -
Why aren’t you men doing anything about it?
Why are you still voting on the basis of caste?
Why are you still pampering women unnecessarily?
Why aren’t we speaking enough about Hindu divorce laws?
Why aren’t we questioning the judiciary enough?
At what point will we stop discussing these issues privately and start demanding accountability publicly?

Few days back I was talking how GC/OBC professors avoid supervising SC PhD scholars as much as possible…today we’ve news floating that a trainee pilot has filed an SC/ST case after seniors refused him clearance.

The long-term damage is predictable. People will stop training, mentoring or even arguing with SC/ST people due to the risk involved. A complaint can cost a job, a licence and a public name before any court decides what’s truth. Avoidance is the rational response to that risk. That is a new kind of distance: personal, professional and social withdrawal. It does not help the people the law was written for. Very unfortunate.
The SC/ST Act is producing a new type of untouchability. Cold and quiet.
