I'm hearing lots of folks say Biden left our Afghan allies behind.
That's true.
He left them behind & then veterans and civil society worked with him & his admin to create to safest, most secure immigration pathway in history.
And then on Day 1, President Trump shut it down.
Congress is back & Afghan allies are at risk of being left out of the NDAA.

Independence Day is a reminder that America is not the project of any one person. The single most powerful word in our democracy is the word ‘We.’ ‘We The People.’ ‘We Shall Overcome.’ ‘Yes We Can.’ America is owned by no one. It belongs to all citizens. And at this moment in history—when core democratic principles seem to be continuously under attack, when too many people around the world have become cynical and disengaged—now is precisely the time to ask ourselves tough questions about how we can build our democracies and make them work in meaningful and practical ways for ordinary people.
An Afghan ally who served alongside U.S. forces was legally paroled into the U.S. and showed up for his first hearing.
@DHSGov detained him anyway—using a vague “improvidently issued” excuse.
He followed the rules.
We have the video.
This must stop.

🚨 The State Dept just told OMB they plan to shut down Enduring Welcome—the program that relocates our Afghan allies.
Thousands already vetted. U.S. troops’ family members. Even American citizens.
We cannot let this happen.
📢 Take action: https://t.co/UsAmDlidYk #AfghanEvac
No official announcement has been made, and no litigation has been filed to date.
These notices are also being sent to attorneys and U.S. citizen family members.
We are asking @DHSgov to issue a statement clarifying policy related to all types of Afghans.
🚨URGENT🚨
Many Afghans who came to the U.S. through various types of parole have received notices that their parole has been terminated and that they have 7 days to leave the country.
#AfghanEvac 🧵below: whatever you do, do not leave the country without talking to a lawyer.
You may be wondering about the difference between Refugees and SIVs. We're here to demystify this for you.
Both are wartime allies. Both are equally deserving of our support. Both are a part of #EnduringWelcome.
Some say SIVs aren't impacted by the EOs. The reality?
✅ Applications are still being processed.
❌ But relocation flights have stopped.
❌ Resettlement services are frozen.
❌ Many approved SIVs have no way to reach safety.
