Your friends can understand why you behave a certain way and still find the behaviour exhausting or hurtful, and sometimes they can tell when entitlement or remorselessness has taken control. ADHD is meant to explain behaviour; it’s not meant to be an infinite hall pass and it doesn’t rule out the interpersonal consequences of those behaviours. It also doesn’t make anyone virtuous; no one is immune to being an asshole. Love is still a social contract.
