What you can do to help Muslims today in wake of #ChristchurchMosque massacre:
-Learn about the Muslims in your community. Reach out so we don't feel so isolated.
-Ramadan begins in early May and is a great time to engage
-Also, DENOUNCE ALL FORMS OF HATE
So pleased that Martin and Rabbi Daniel from our community’s Leadership Team made this #solidarity visit on our behalf. Visiting one another needs to become a habit, in good times as well as bad.
Willesden Minyan/Shir Hayim leaders meet with Al Khoei Foundation in Queens Park leaders after Jumaah to send love and solidarity to NZ.Every time the white right seeks to divide us,we will strengthen our commitment to one another.
.@MuslimCouncil .@redstarneil
.@MuslimCouncil - the Willesden Minyan and Hampstead Reform Jewish Community stand with you and other Muslims throughout the UK. We will start with a visit to our local mosque.
We will work together to confront racists and Islamaphobes. We are only safe when all of us are safe.
49 people have been murdered in a terrorist attack. Hatred, expressed through white nationalism and Islamaphobia, is becoming normalised.
We all have a personal stake in making sure that we rebuild the fabric of a diverse civil society and confront those who want to divide us.
Pictionary at #CLchristmas is getting heated! After being welcomed by our Principal, Ed Newell, students spent time getting to know each other w/TrustLab co-founder @DebbieLDanon who will explore our theme ‘Identities & Cosmopolitanism’ with participants tomorrow. #CLidentities
This afternoon, @DebbieLDanon talks to Mamataj Begum, Edna Fernandes and @GhazalMia about reclaiming representation - what role does social media player? #CLChristmas
This is what #solidarity looks like. Willesden Minyan & Shir Hayim paused our #YomKippur2018 prayers to visit Al Hosseini Muslim Community after cowardly hate attack. #Neighbours@ReformMovement@mckdnl @TheEisaAli https://t.co/RICQCnCvMt
@TheEisaAli @ReformMovement We are outraged by the attack to the brothers and sisters of Husseini Association last night. Isaiah says that God does not want us to fast on #YomKippur without breaking the chains of injustice. Today we went to meet our neighbours to tell them we stand in solidarity with them.
Yesterday, on #YomKippur, our #Jewish community heard our #Muslim neighbours had been the victims of a violent hate crime the night before, just as they prepared for #Ashura. We paid them a visit to show our solidarity and friendship against hatred and violence.
2 nights ago, the Al Husseini centre in Cricklewood was attacked when 3 Islamaphobes drove a car into worshippers leaving a late night study session. On Yom Kippur, our shul went to visit our Muslim neighbours, to tell them we stand in solidarity with them against hatred.
Remember that everyone you meet today has their own set of unseen struggles to cope with; so do your best to ensure that you lighten their load rather than increase it.
#trustlab they walk the talk with authentic strides. @DebbieLDanon YOU inspire us to be greater human beings and to continue to be better inclusive leaders. Together we will bring Diversity and Inclusion in to our work and communities.
✋STOP WHATEVER YOU'RE DOING. Bossman @shidenteklee of @AdvocacyAcademy & @legallyblackuk leading by example once again. It takes incredible courage to drop this kind of truth on the front page of The Observer. Couldn't be prouder of him & his journey 🙌 https://t.co/ogvs4fWPkC
Spent 5 hours at the Home Office in #croydon So often, it is a place of broken dreams. Not today. For me, I finally (!) have ILR. But even more remarkable were the many many #Windrush folks who were getting their ILR too in specially designed lines. Whoops of joy were heard.
You two have done an amazingly fantastic job. I am excited to taste all the pathways, but your passion is really reeling me in! :) Thanks @DebbieLDanon @vanessafaloye @fbrownwork@QueensLeaders https://t.co/IcTb7N8Is5
