Why should he have to do any of that?
And there actually isn't plenty of standing room. It isn't a big place and there are areas they are not allowed to stand within the House. Taking away Sinn Féin there is still and excess of 216 MPs when all the seats are occupied.
You would be lucky to fit 520 total.
The House of Commons wouldn't be able to exist as any other work place because of the fire hazard that would exist if every single MP attended.
@claire_adams694 I don't have anything on next Thursday but I would imagine there would be lots of members with a military background that would be keen to go.
John Healey’s ‘data centre covenant’ is a pale version of the Patriotic Compact I proposed to incentivise sovereign British AI. https://t.co/PQ9qlZrGyW
He hasn't explained how he's going to speed up grid connections, which are hampered by Net Zero. And there’s no mention of giving local areas control over their construction.
Britain needs to take AI much more seriously and specify how we're going to solve the specific blockers - or we're going to be left behind in this existential race
Yeah, look, hear me out with this one. As someone with a healthcare point of view it is undeniable alcohol does cause harm, harm that costs society money. Right now the specfic tax(s) on alcohol doesn't cover the health, crime, productivity etc cost to the treasury BUT much of that harm is more likely to happen while drinking at home.
IMO taxes on RTD and high alcohol drinks (excluding UK whiskies) should have risen and relief given to community pubs in which harmful drinking is less likely to occur and there are often social and mental health benefits.
🚨 REFORM COUNCIL LEADER HITS OUT AT FARAGE ‘TRIAL’ IN SCHOOL!
Cllr George Finch has lodged a formal complaint after Liberal Democrat activist John Sweeney reportedly put Nigel Farage “on trial” before pupils at Stratford Girls’ Grammar School
Finch says “political impartiality must apply to Reform too”

@mac_justin@ReformDaily_ Schools are mandated to have political balance. Did he go onto their school grounds and give a biased account of his political opponents and put them under fake legal charges under the guise of a school lesson?
No?
How is it hypocrisy?
@MissBlockers@bphillipsonMP@UKLabour Comments like yours give me a little bit of faith in humanity again.
Being able to balance a view seems like a rare trait these days.
Thank-you, you sincerely made my day.
Wasn't it discovered that Chinese spies were funding Labour MP's?
Didn't Labour once have an "unsackble" Minister because of the amount of money he donated to the party in the early 2000s?
It has gotten to the point where parties throwing shade is pointless because it will always just be thrown back.
They did "get" anyone to do anything, it was volunteered.
If you think any other party would react differently then you really can't be helped.
There is much worse going on but you never heard about far and wide because it isn't Reform.
The Labour MP taking a £20,000 from an education training company right before making training for real estate compulsory. Seems totally okay.
@TheChrisWray@supertanskiii@SalfordSaxon They didn't pay for those, nor did they privately receive the results of said polls so it isn't counted as any sort of benefits or donation.
If some dork wants to pay for polls and give them to the media then they can do that, even you could manage it.
