Gas is over $5 a gallon right now.
The last time a barrel of crude oil cost this much was in July 2014. At that point a gallon of gas only cost about $3.54.
Let’s be clear: Oil companies don’t need to be charging this much for gas. They’re just doing it to make excess profits.
Vernfield Elementary faculty and staff were honored that so many graduating seniors wanted to share their special week with us! Thanks for coming back! Always follow the Vernfield Vision!
It was a privilege to attend a retiree luncheon held by Souderton Area School District today. I was honored to share some kind words about Mrs. Derro! A true joy to work with this teacher who is passionate about the education of all children. Thank you, Mrs. Derro!
My student asked me if we will ever include mass shooting victims in our Memorial Day ceremonies, "since they were all killed by military grade weapons," and I can not stop thinking about it.
BREAKING: CDC documents warned Trump a full reopening of schools is 'highest risk' for the virus to spread. Trump pushed for schools to reopen anyways, because he doesn’t care if our kids or teachers get sick and die. He just cares about getting re-elected. And that’s pathetic.
It took 95 days for us to reach 1,000,000 cases of Covid-19.
It took 43 days for us to reach 2 million cases.
It took 28 days for us to reach 3 million cases.
The virus is accelerating. Even someone with 1/100th of a brain should see that.
It’s good for teachers to know their content, and it’s great for them to know the pedagogy, but it’s imperative for them to know the kids. @SteeleThoughts@ToddWhitaker#BMSMakeItHappen
It’s good to have fun at work... practical jokes, inside jokes, corny jokes, music, shenanigans, hijinks, tomfoolery, silliness... and lots of laughing.
Colleagues that have fun together, work hard together. And ultimately, it’s a good culture in which students can learn.
When I tweeted about advocating for social justice, a teacher told me not to “bring politics” into her classroom.
That makes as much sense as eliminating discussions of the American Revolution and the Bill of Rights. Social justice is about human rights. And it’s for everyone.
More Americans have died from the coronavirus than were killed fighting in World War I.
Tens of millions have lost their jobs and are in danger of eviction.
Now is the time to invest in jobs, education, housing and health care here at home, not a $740 billion defense budget.
Congress must ensure that the treatment and the vaccine for coronavirus are free to all Americans. You should not have to go into debt to survive a pandemic.
We do a much better job of teaching our students when we first take the time to understand our students. Understand their background, their experiences, their challenges, and their joys.
This is what narcissism is about. Trump, in order to hear cheers from an adoring crowd, will defy science and sacrifice lives—not just those who go to his rally but those they come in contact with. For the health of the American people he must be defeated.

Masks make sense. Those who argue otherwise make no sense. I'm sorry, but as someone in a high at-risk category, I'm not ready to shuffle off this mortal coil just because someone defines refusing to put a cloth over their mouth for a couple months in public as "freedom."
All work has dignity.
Work should pay enough to live in dignity.
Pennsylvania’s minimum wage of $7.25 affirms neither.
If Target can step up, so must PA.
Instead of spending $740 billion on the Dept. of Defense, let's rebuild communities at home devastated by poverty and incarceration. I'll be filing an amendment to cut the DoD by 10% and reinvest that money in cities and towns that we've neglected and abandoned for far too long.
