Manizha Talash fled Afghanistan, but not because she feared the Taliban — she wanted to pursue her dream and breakdance.
Now, she will participate in the Paris Games on the Refugee Olympic Team. https://t.co/iFm5eSNkMV

They say, it's impossible to banish music to silence. Well, in that case, some music with a message is the need of the hour...
Here is what is brewing in Manipur's relief camps... By Yours truly...

What is something you don't hear every day? A mother as the drummer and her two daughters as guitarists is truly something worthy of praise; talent runs deep in this particular family.
The band, known as ThadwangsisT (Thadwang Sisters Band), was named after their locality in Thadwang of Pyndengrei Village in #Nongstoiñ.
ThadwangsisT is a band formed by the mother, Philin Mary Marweiñ, as the drummer, and her two daughters: Shelbylyne Marweiñ, 13 years old, as the bass guitarist, and Fivilyne Marweiñ, 11 years old, as the lead/rhythm guitarist and vocalist. Both are currently studying at St. Peter’s Pyndengrei in Nongstoiñ.
The band received full support from the father and head of the household, Tesporlin Lyngkhoi, who is a local taxi driver in Nongstoiñ.
Speaking to T7News, the band expressed their gratitude towards their father, who encouraged and supported them in forming the band. Initially, both the daughters and the mother were unaware of the talent they possessed, but it was their father who ignited their passion. Now, they are playing songs by #Metallica, #Motörhead, AC/DC, #BonJovi, and others, and they're nailing it.
The drummer, who is also the mother, said she was a bit hesitant at first, but with her husband's encouragement, she has overcome her doubts and now feels comfortable performing on stage or at any venue with other bands. She also emphasized that it is the duty of parents to guide their children and help them grow in whatever talent they possess.
