Dr. Pisut Koomsap, Project Coordinator of ReCap4Thailand, paid a visit to Purdue and the DeBoer Lab last week. Doctoral student Nrupaja Bhide,@DhineshWithaH and @jumpbean83 discussed our lab's work and learned about exciting ReCap4Thailand developments. Many thanks for the visit!
"Understanding how engineering and the Turkish-American identity negotiated has widened the range of possibilities and opportunities for me and my peers who share similar experiences" shared Yagmur! Cheers on winning the best DEI paper in Student Divison, Yagmur! #ASEE2022
"How Turkish Am I?" Come listen to our very own Yagmur's award-winning paper at the student division event today at 1:45 PM, room 207 at the convention center @ASEEConferences!
All set! Today at @ASEEConferences, come join us in Room 103C at the Convention center (1:15 PM) to hear about the use of student self-beliefs to contextualize eng. curriculum for secondary school girl learners in sub-Saharan Africa!
All the best to our first batch of learners at Dadaab Camp, who are starting our Localized Engineering in Displacement this week under the AHEEN program (https://t.co/FxkZyPucpQ)! Excited to have met in person. It's time now to tackle some community problems!
Super excited to have started our EngStarter learning technology beta-testing at @TumainiCenter! The place where it all began. Lot of great interaction and mutual learning. Thank you wonderful teachers of Tumaini for your constant and meaningful collaboration! Next stop, Dadaab!
One of the highlights of the #CIES2022 was listening to Professor Shireen Ibrahim of the Department of Dams and Water Resources Engineering at the University of Anbar share the ways she leveraged the ABC (active, blended, and collaborative) framework as a response to Covid-19.
At the Pajama session of the #CIES2022, with our partners @WorldLearning, we were excited to share with the academic community details of the process and impact of our Faculty Development and Collaborative Research Project with the University of Anbar College of Engineering
We are thrilled to be sharing two exciting presentations with wonderful colleagues from Purdue GEPP, University of Anbar, World Learning, and Plan International. More information here!

Collaborating with the @TumainiCenter teachers was an amazing experience! Over two weeks we had rich conversations and reflections as we started the process of integrating their local knowledge in the LED curriculum.

What a fun and rich conversation our grad students had on Friday! Thank you for your time and the thoughtful insights from your Ph.D. journey Dr. @HodaEhsan!! It was a pleasure having you, and we are already looking forward to the next time.
The paper was our first critical self-reflective effort to understand our LED program through an asset-based framework. It has led to significant updates to our processes. More on that soon, but first, thanks a ton for the recognition REES AAEE 2021!
As multiple of our project sites in Kenya and Zimbabwe go on a term break, it is time for us to engage in critical reflection this month! As a first, we are both humbled and excited about winning the Commendation from REES AAEE 2021.
Thank you Dr. Richard Aleong for visiting our lab meeting and sharing great insights from your Ph.D. journey! We look forward to having you again in the future!
We are proud to share our AEE article documenting years of development and impact of the Localized Engineering in Displacement model.
