@congressdj@Tesla_AI Was anyone behind you? If yes, thankful they also had a quick reaction. If no, That’s always my worry with FSD - being that it is so capable at avoiding accidents in front of us, but can’t prevent the car behind us from stopping timely.
That would be awesome if that’s the case, as that is one thing I wish FSD would do. I often have my hand hovered over the horn for moments like that… Partly because option to save the recording on honk is ON - in the event something did happen. I also know that in some cities honking your horn could get you shot! Since FSD takes the emotion out of driving, I definitely don’t use the horn too much.
@niccruzpatane How does that affect replacement parts? What if my 2026 X needs a new windshield in 3 years? Will @Tesla still make it? I finally made the decision 5 months ago to buy my first EV - the X - and now this news from @elonmusk today … crud!
I’ve had my 2026 model X for four months and I’m still in awe of the vehicle’s driving technology. I really wish all Tesla‘s had this feature activated - as that makes everyone / everything safer on the road. Eagerly awaiting the day when all cars, regardless of manufacturer, have similar capabilities.
Had the same thing happen to my in-laws in rural Texas… Such an awful experience… ! 86 years old and they ended up having to drive themselves 100 miles to the airport in rush-hour traffic… Thank God they did not get into an accident and made their flight with only 18 minutes to spare - they were exhausted! They were not flying back to that same airport - so they had to get alternate transportation to get back to their vehicle a week later… which was the whole reason I encouraged them to try Uber…… Robotaxi can’t roll out fast enough IMO!!
