If you want to be a live act then you need excellent LIVE video to sell your live act. Talent buyers don’t want to see music videos because that doesn't really help them with what it’s gonna look like live.
Your image is almost as important as your sound. People have stronger visual memories than sonic ones. If you look lame onstage, half of your audience will think that you sound lame. And that's what they will remember.

I know you think all you have to do is make "good music" and the fans will find you. But that couldn't be further from the truth. For one thing, "good" is subjective. You probably think half the bands on the charts today are sh*t. But, clearly, others think they're incredible.
Pick two well-known artists you sound like and use it when people ask. You may think that you shouldn’t be pigeonholed by referencing one or two artists or genres, but believe me, you will drastically help your (potential) audience by giving them a frame of reference.
