Rural community health remains a major challenge in Nigeria. Many Primary Health Centres (PHCs) exist but are non-functional due to lack of staff, drugs, equipment & community ownership.
Human Capacity Development:
In 2025, DEC Enugu trained 11 Community Health Assistants in partnership with Holley Memorial Hospital & local communities. DEC also provided basic medical equipment (BP monitors, blood sugar kits, etc.) to support their work effectively.
This convention isnβt just an event.
