Y que simplemente necesitaba estar un rato con nosotros.
Volví a casa pensando en algo.
Durante años creí que crecer significaba cambiar de amigos.
Ahora creo que crecer es aprender a querer a los mismos amigos en versiones distintas. Ya no somos los que cerraban los bares.
Somos los que preguntan si llegaste bien.
Los que celebran un ascenso.
Los que hacen silencio cuando hace falta. Los que entienden que cancelar un plan por un hijo enfermo no es una excusa. Es una prioridad.
Quizá la amistad no consiste en verse todas las semanas. Consiste en que, aunque la vida cambie a todos…
cuando finalmente vuelven a sentarse en la misma mesa, nadie tenga que explicar por qué sigue ahí.
Y eso, con los años, vale mucho más que cualquier promesa de juventud.
