پاکستان چھوڑیے۔۔۔ حیدرآباد دکن، کشمیر بنگلادیش، ہندوستان وغیرہ میں بھی کئی لوگ ہیں جنہیں ناگری رسم الخط پڑھنا نہیں آتا @Rekhta فقط ایک ہی طبقہ کے لوگوں میں اردو کو فروغ دینا (جو اس زباں کے اہل بھی نہیں) سراسر نا انصافی ہے۔ #اردو_بچاؤ

Many people don’t realize that people follow Rekhta from Pakistan and overseas as well. They don’t know Nagari.

Urdu sentences that i have heard/read which aren't direct Qur'anic verses or hadiths but still carry deep islamic wisdom 🧵

@ArainGang The land of Panini!

[Hyderabadis for Palestine 🇵🇸 @deccanparast]

@TheSouthfirst You may check out Professor Shamsur Rahman Faruqi's discussion on this topic. "Dehlavi" like the terms "Hindavi" and "Dakhni" were names for what we now (and what Deccanis themselves) call Urdu.

[Hyderabadis for Palestine 🇵🇸 @deccanparast]

@TheSouthfirst This is an oddly paternalistic article. Its speakers call it Urdu because it is Urdu.

History can't be altered.

@van_vij @HammadHRind Not at all! This is simply an amateur editor (anyone can edit Wiktionary) who thinks every word used in Hindi is the exact same in Urdu

Hindi speakers do indeed use many Persian/Arabic words associated with Urdu, but this is not the case with Sanskrit words and Urdu

[Hyderabadis for Palestine 🇵🇸 @deccanparast]

@van_vij @HammadHRind When Indian Muslims (usually North Indians) use Hindi words in their Urdu, it's because they've been deprived of access to Urdu-learning

The vast majority of Urdu literature being churned out of present-day India mirrors their Pakistani counterparts

[Hyderabadis for Palestine 🇵🇸 @deccanparast]

@HammadHRind Wiktionary is a helpful resournce but the moment I saw 'pita' (father) in an Urdu entry I knew I had to use it more critically

Oops

[Abier @abierkhatib]

CNN's Kasie Hunt referring to 6 years old Hind Rajab ."a woman killed in Gaza"

You gotta be a a disgusting pedophile to consider a 6 yo child a woman.

8. if it's possible, try to avoid being arrested. i know a lot of people treat it like a badge of honor, but it's a brutal and traumatizing experience. there are times where it's unavoidable and where it's worth it, but again, it's always better to avoid being arrested.

[hegelian vs predator @reachrachelkahn]

1. this is the most important tip i can offer: do not antagonize the police. we all hate cops, and we should, and they absolutely should hate themselves and their jobs--but they can and will maim or kill you with impunity. treat them with caution like you would dangerous animals.

5. stay hydrated, and don't skip meals. especially with temperatures rising, there's a good chance you will be sitting and cuffed in the heat without access to food or water. the police will neglect your medical condition out of spite. you dont need heat stroke on top of bruises.
