When people think "space tech" they imagine billionaires, or companies that have raised hundreds of millions, launching reusable rockets or deploying massive fleets of satellites. To the average person, space feels distant, mysterious and accessible only to a select few.
At Decen Space, we imagine a radically different future. We believe that the space economy, set to grow to three times its current size (nearly $2 trillion) by 2035, should be accessible to anyone and everyone.
Over 4500 satellites were launched into space last year, with the number increasing exponentially with launch capability. These satellites constantly need to talk to Earth. The pace they are launching is outstripping the historical growth of ground infrastructure. There is growing commercial pressure to secure access to antennas.
We believe this represents a tremendous economic opportunity. We imagine, and want to bring to life, a future where anyone with an antenna can participate in this trillion-dollar economy. All one would need is a few hundred dollars to start, and they’d be able to listen to the machines flying above us.
A truly decentralized space economy, where everyone participates and gets a share of the value generated.
Next week, our team will be at @earsc ExpandEO, and our CTO, Ryan Summers, is taking the stage.
Ryan will pitch how we are optimizing Earth Observation and remote sensing workflows, expanding downlink windows and accelerating the path from orbit to ground control, so operators get more data, faster.
Our approach pairs a software-defined coordination layer with edge processing hardware to enhance infrastructure networks that were never built for today's data volumes.
Going to be there? Let's connect.

🗓️ June 13th, Berlin
This week we are at SmallSat Europe.
We are looking forward to a week of connecting with people across the industry. Especially excited to discuss the future of communications infrastructure in space and on ground!
If you are there let's connect! 🚀
Receiving this years Berlin Deep Tech Award is a meaningful milestone for Decen Space. We are proud of our team's dedication to building a decentralized infrastructure network for satellite communication, and we are incredibly grateful to the Berlin tech community for welcoming our vision.
Thank you to everyone who has supported our journey so far. Berlin truly gives engineering teams the space to focus and innovate.
We were selected to pitch at Deep Tech Momentum in Berlin. Very excited to take part in this event bringing together many great companies, investors and government officials from across Europe.
Decen Space has a home! Our first office in Berlin to fit the growing team.
We'll be bringing on more people through the summer, job postings coming soon 🚀
Satellites have a communications problem.
Yesterday on The Relay, we sat down with @spacetristan from @decenspace to learn how they're fixing it.
Their plan includes 20,000 global receiver stations.
