So the FIA is not dealing with an abstract “Russian motorsport federation”.

It is dealing with a federation whose own public structure raises a direct question about neutrality, territorial integrity and the legitimacy of its national representation.

🚨 Ukraine has filed a FORMAL COMPLAINT against the FIA following its decision to lift the ban on Russian and Belarusian competitors.

The Ukrainian Automobile Federation has requested an urgent ethics investigation into the Russian Automobile Federation, accusing it of operating offices in Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories.

BBC Sport reports the decision to lift the ban was proposed by FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem and approved by the World Motor Sport Council.

The FAU is asking for the Russian federation to be sanctioned and for the offices to be closed immediately. 🇺🇦
