@PatrickMcEnroe Your local college recruits and pays off broadway actors to take the lead roles in plays. The reasoning is that professional actors raise the level of acting, and one in a thousand might be the next Brad Pitt. Then that university takes credit.
@RedWavePress Form of cheating. Especially in tennis. 17 year old freshman. Much more common after covid. “Homeschooling” academies put this on parents so kids might be able to make a college team.
@krewatch2812@MegynKellyShow Exactly. Atlanta is tennis heavy, but nobody is going to watch Kennesaw state or Georgia state. Not one American on either team.
@CarlHannigan345@Stinko10@hardwoodinsider Imagine. “Here is UCLA basketball. They are good. They have an entire roster of former pros from Serbia and Lithuania” But they shoot better! That would kill basketball here
@CarlHannigan345@Stinko10@hardwoodinsider As you said, 1 percent of college football players go pro. People arent watching because it is the highest level. You can kill it by having 100 foreigners on each team though.
@CarlHannigan345@Stinko10@hardwoodinsider I am saying it makes no sense to recycle older foreign failed pros , and to give them college spots. Just like it would make no sense to have former nfl players be recruited because then college football will “be better”.
@CarlHannigan345@Stinko10@hardwoodinsider ? I just said there are about 25000 d1 full rides and only 32 5 stars annually. Meaning 5 stars could not fill half of one football team. So of course the vast majority of every team are 2 stars or less.
@CarlHannigan345@Stinko10@hardwoodinsider lol. Well that’s exactly what UGA does. 70 players on roster from Georgia getting a full ride. If all high schools in the usa turn out 32 5 stars you do the math.
@CarlHannigan345@Stinko10@hardwoodinsider Maybe 25000 d1 football players receive full rides and there are only 32 annual 5 stars in all of high school. So they do just that. Teams are filled with 2 stars and no stars.
@CarlHannigan345@Stinko10@hardwoodinsider Let the rest of the world come up with something for their players that meshes education and sports. It’s college. It’s below challenger. It’s below atp. If they did I am sure these countries would have quotas.
@CarlHannigan345@Stinko10@hardwoodinsider Should retired NFL guys be able to play college football because the product will be better? But not good enough to be elite, but just good enough to block out American high schoolers? 12-13 utr are trash compared to atp.
@CarlHannigan345@Stinko10@hardwoodinsider No. 90 percent of the nfl comes from college. 90 percent of the NBA comes from college. Those are real feeder systems. For top 100 men and women it’s about 10 percent. lol. And that one season didnt help them. They would be there either way.
