Delighted to see the Lisburn Civic Centre and bridge lit up in pink to mark three years of Dáithí’s Law.
Eight years on, Dáithí is still waiting for the gift of a new heart. Please have the conversation with your family about organ donation. @lisburnccc#Donate4Dáithí
💟 This evening, Lagan Valley Island and Union Bridge is illuminated pink to mark the introduction of Dáithí’s Law.
Named after Dáithí Mac Gabhann, who has been waiting for a heart transplant since 2018, the law means adults are considered potential organ donors unless they choose to opt out.
Councillor Brian Higginson, Chair of Corporate Services said: “Dáithí’s Law represents hope, compassion and the power of community to drive meaningful change. This is a reminder of the lives already being transformed through organ donation and the importance of continuing to raise awareness.”
Councillor Declan Lynch added: “Dáithí’s story has touched people far beyond his own community. Dáithí’s Law reminds us of the hope that organ donation brings, and we encourage everyone to take a moment to learn about the law and talk to their loved ones about their wishes.”

Sinn Féin has today launched proposals to reform our political institutions, ensuring no party can again block the formation of an Executive.
Workers and families deserve stable, effective government. Read the proposals here: https://t.co/hHyyhTXJhe
The DUP has blocked the Good Jobs Bill from reaching the Assembly floor, blocking what would be the most progressive workers’ rights legislation ever introduced in the north. Once again, they’ve shown where they stand when it comes to workers, rights and equality.
Good to catch up with First Minister @moneillsf in Lisburn yesterday ahead of meetings with local businesses.
Lisburn has huge economic potential, and Sinn Féin is committed to creating jobs, attracting investment and delivering opportunities across the city.
This morning, Sinn Féin joined the families of Bloody Sunday as they continue their fight for truth and accountability.
53 years on, they remain as determined as ever to see justice for their loved ones.
We will continue to stand with all families in their pursuit of justice.
Today, Sinn Féin joined a large protest in Belfast as part of the ‘Global Movement for Gaza’.
The people of Gaza are being starved by Israel and the genocide is continuing unabated
We must continue to be the voice of Palestine and demand a future of peace, justice and freedom🇵🇸
We took part in an important discussion and training session with @BHFNI in Brook Leisure Centre.

@AntrimLGFA aiming to make another piece of history today. The whole of Antrim are behind use. Catháir and I can’t wait to cheer on @aine_tubridy and the team today at Croke park. We are so proud of all you have done.
@AntrimLGFA in All Ireland final on Sunday yet @AontroimGAA have pencilled in senior championship games for the same day. You would have thought lessons would have learnt from the last time this happened.
Children should be allowed to play together at summer camp without facing intolerance.
These developments are deeply worrying and unacceptable.
Sport has the power to unify.
Political representatives must call this out. We need to send a clear message that we will continue moving forward together to build a brighter society and overcome such unacceptable intolerance.
The OO which was formed out of pure sectarianism is now out playing its part in the cancellation of a sports summer scheme simply because the GAA were invited. We should and will not tolerate this. Look forward to hearing what political unionism has to say about this.
No Gary, the boat on the bonfire is an absolutely disgusting act, fuelled by sickening racist and far-right attitudes
There is no room for racism or any form of hate in society and it must be called out by political leaders when it raises its head.
📽️🎞️The teaser for my upcoming film, 'Lost City', starring John Connors, Ciaran McCourt & Jade O'Neill.
A young Belfast boxer falls for a woman on the run from her violent past, dragging him into a deadly feud with a Limerick gang, and forcing him to choose between love, loyalty, and survival.
Yesterday marked 12 years since a game was played at #CasementPark.
Tomorrow has been described as a ‘red letter day’ by @UlsterGAA officials who say they’re ’cautiously optimistic’ the Chancellor will announce funding for the much delayed project.

Ádh Mór Brendan. Absolutely fantastic journalist but an even better person. Thanks for all you done and ensuring @AontroimGAA was given a platform and our voices heard. Enjoy whatever comes next and I’m sure I will see you around.
After 26 incredible years I've decided to leave The Irish News at the end of the inter-county season.
I couldn't have given it more - and The Irish News couldn't have given me more. It was a match made in heaven. For the next while, there's a bit more writing in me yet.
